U.S. Iraq Troops Get Refresher on Values

All U.S. troops in Iraq were ordered Thursday to undergo a refresher on values and ethics in the wake of alleged killings of civilians by Marines last year.
Commanders were ordered to conduct core warrior values training, highlighting the importance of adhering to legal, moral and ethical standards on the battlefield within 30 days, CNN reported.
U.S. Army Lt. Gen. Peter Chiarelli, Multi-National Corps-Iraq commander, said in the order while nearly all of the 150,000 coalition troops perform magnificently, there are a few individuals who sometimes choose the wrong path.
He said as military professionals, it is important that we take time to reflect on the values that separate us from our enemies.
There are two Pentagon investigations going on into the deaths of 24 civilians in Haditha last November. Sources told CNN there is strong evidence several Marines went on a shooting rampage after a bomb killed one of their own.
The reports are expected within two weeks.
