Pope leaves Rome for Spain trip

ROME (Reuters) – Pope Benedict left Rome on Saturday for a
lightning visit to Valencia, Spain, to close an international
gathering of Roman Catholic families.
The Alitalia plane carrying the Pope, his entourage and
journalists, left Rome’s Fiumicino airport at around 9:30 a.m
(0730 GMT) for a two-hour flight to Valencia.
He is due to return to Rome on Saturday afternoon.
