Brazil: Gang Attacks Sao Paulo Authorities
Posted on: Tuesday, 8 August 2006, 15:00 CDT
Alleged gang members have unleashed another wave of attacks on Sao Paulo police stations and government buildings, O Globo reported Tuesday.
The assailants also torched a number of buses and firebombed the city's Justice Ministry in downtown Sao Paulo.
Police reportedly killed at least two suspects and arrested a dozen more.
Monday's violence is a repeat of attacks earlier this year on Sao Paulo police and other authorities attributed to the First Capital Command gang, or PCC, a highly organized criminal operation.
PCC attacks in May left dozens of people dead and hundreds injured.
