Germany Issues Warrants for CIA Agents

Arrest warrants for 13 CIA agents have been issued by a Munich court related to the alleged kidnapping of a German citizen for terror interrogation.
Prosecutor Christian Schmidt-Sommerfeld said the agents are accused of kidnapping and inflicting bodily harm on Khaled al-Masri, who was abducted in the former Yugoslav republic of Macedonia.
However, he said it was unclear if Germany would be able to have the agents extradited to Germany, the International Herald Tribune reported Wednesday.
A Spanish investigation alleges the agents flew aboard a Boeing 737 from Spain in January 2004 to Macedonia. Masri claims he was beaten, drugged, and flown to Afghanistan for five months of beatings and questioning. He was then flown to Albania and released, Masri claims. Now living back in southern Germany, Masri is suing the U.S. government, the report said.
