Iran President in Saudi Arabia for Meeting
March 3, 2007
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was in Saudi Arabia for talks on hot-button regional issues in the Middle East, including Iran’s nuclear program.
GEO TV said Ahmadinejad, who is making his first official visit to the kingdom, was met in Riyadh by King Abdallah.
The subject matter of the summit includes Iraq as well as the ongoing strife in Lebanon, which Saudi and Iranian officials have been mediating in a series of recent meetings.
The weekend meetings come in advance of the Arab League summit in Saudi Arabia later this month.
