Mexican President Felipe Calderon expressed his opposition Tuesday to the U.S-Mexican border fence the United States is building.

Calderon also pushed for U.S. President Bush to implement an oft-promised temporary workers program in the United States so that those who enter the country illegally to work can do so legally, El Universal reported.

My pledge to you and your government (of Mexico) — but, more importantly, the people of Mexico — is I will work as hard as I possibly can to pass comprehensive immigration reform, said Bush.

The U.S. president was on last-leg of his five-nation tour of Latin America during which he spoke of alternative energy initiatives in Brazil and free trade and security in Guatemala and Colombia, respectively.
