India Arrests Two in Train Bombing Probe
Police arrested two men in the central Indian city of Indore on suspicion of involvement in the deadly bombing of a train last month.
Police said the two men worked in a luggage shop and stitching on the remains of the suitcases used to carry the bombs was linked back to their shop, the Press Trust of India reported Wednesday.
Two suitcases packed with explosives and gasoline exploded in two cars of the Samjhauta Express on the night of Feb. 18, killing 67 people on their way to Lahore, Pakistan.
The arrests are the first in the investigation, the report said.
Of those killed, 19 bodies have yet to be identified and Indian officials agreed to preserve DNA samples for testing should anyone in Pakistan report someone missing who might have been on the train.
