Pakistan Cricket Coach Was Strangled
Police in Jamaica were investigating the death of Pakistan’s cricket coach Bob Woolmer, who was found strangled in his hotel room.
A maid found Woolmer, 58, in his Jamaica Pegasus room Sunday, the morning after his team’s World Cup loss to Ireland.
It would take some force because Bob was a large man and, therefore, it would have taken some significant force to subdue him and cause strangulation. Deputy Commissioner of Police Mark Shields said, the Jamaica Gleaner reported.
We do not know at this stage how many people were in the room, it could be one or more people that could be involved in this murder, he said.
Police interviewed and fingerprinted the members of the 22-man Pakistan team on Thursday.
We are trying to cooperate. We want the facts. He was part of us. We want to see all of this over as soon as possible, team manager Talat Ali told the Gleaner.
