The Israeli army Saturday killed four Palestinians in the West Bank, including a man said to be a police officer.
Three men were fatally wounded when Israeli soldiers fired at their vehicle near Jenin, the Jerusalem Post reported. Two were said to be members of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade and the third of Islamic Jihad.
Palestinian and Israeli officials gave different accounts of the shooting. Palestinian authorities said the Israelis ambushed the men's vehicle, while Israeli officials said the soldiers came under fire first.
The other killing took place in the village of Kafr Dan near Nablus. Mohammed Said Abed, 22, was standing on the roof of his house when he was shot during a search of the village.
Israeli officials said soldiers fired at him because they had been taking sniper fire when they saw a man armed with a rifle.
