An International Atomic Energy Agency team has been invited by Iran to help the Middle Eastern nation clarify its nuclear program to the rest of the world.
Iranian Supreme National Security Council official Ali Larijani recently traveled to Vienna to visit with IAEA Director Mohamed ElBaradei and invited an IAEA team, Alalam Satellite News said Monday.
IAEA spokeswoman Melissa Fleming said the invitation was issued by Ali Larijani, Iran's chief nuclear negotiator, during talks Sunday with ElBaradei.
The team's visit will be focused on clarifying Iran's controversial nuclear efforts to the international community to limit suspicions of the Middle Eastern nation's true intentions.
The satellite news group said that the agency accepted the invitation and is currently preparing a team to visit Tehran in the near future.
