ATLANTA - A woman scheduled to fly to London gave birth to a baby girl Sunday in a restroom at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
Airport spokeswoman Felicia Browder said the woman - whose name was not released - did not feel well and went to a restroom in the airport's north terminal at about 3:15 p.m., before going through a security check.
Five minutes later, she went into labor. A Continental Airlines ticket agent, who happened to walk into the restroom, assisted with the labor while another agent called 911.
The agents had received some medical training, Browder said.
Both the mother and daughter were well and plan to fly to London with the child's grandparents next week.
