Girl Scout Recovers Stolen Cookie Money
The mother of a 9-year-old Girl Scout in Florida has recovered $164 in cookie money allegedly stolen by two teenagers, it was reported Tuesday.
The victim's mom, Charlene Rubenstrunk, went to the Lake Worth home of one of the girls who alleged took the cash from her daughter, Gracie Smith, where the girl's embarrassed father refunded the money, The Palm Beach Post reported Tuesday.
It's rather disgusting. The girls have absolutely no remorse for what they did, Rubenstrunk said of the Park Vista High School students.
Publicity surrounding the incident has given a boost to cookie sales for Smith and her troop, Rubenstrunk said.
If a case is filed in last week's incident, the teens reportedly would be charged as minors for misdemeanor theft.
