Running tackle helps nab missing dog
A woman with an apparent interest in football tacking was able to bring down a dog that had run away from its home in Norfolk, Va., one dog searcher said.
Debra Griggs said after she and nine other people conducted an extensive search for Sebastian the Chow, which had run away from its owner’s home on Nov. 15, it was not the dog catcher’s mitt or catchpole that finally snagged the canine, The (Norfolk) Virginian-Pilot said Sunday.
Griggs said one of the women aiding in Saturday’s search managed to grab a hold of the dog after tackling the animal at full speed.
Of course, it helped that the 12-year-old dog had stopped in an open field to rest its old bones and take a nap.
As old dogs do, Griggs said,
he was asleep.
But despite the dog’s naptime antics, Griggs told the Virginian-Pilot the flying canine tackle was one for the memory books.
I wish I had a camera, she said of the dog’s unusual capture.
