Cat wins ‘Best in Show’ 39 times
A pedigreed Persian cat from Raleigh, N.C., has received its 39th
Best in Show title at the 2008 International Cat Show in Atlanta.
Brandon Moore, 22, said his 1-year-old black Persian, named Santos, was named the top cat from a pool of 730 during the weekend by judges from the Cat Fanciers’ Association, the Charlotte (N.C.) Observer reported Tuesday.
Moore and the cat’s other owners said Santos has been named
Best in Show at 39 of the 40 cat shows he has participated in, including shows in Belgium, Ukraine and the Netherlands.
The owners said Santos lives the celebrity life in a home with Moore and another owner, Justin Pelletier, 30. They said the feline is hand fed Blue Ridge meat designed for cats twice a day and takes his cat naps in his own room with handmade navy-blue silk pillows.
However, Moore said the pampered pet is not without his vices.
Lord, he loves catnip, Moore said.
