A resident of the ski resort town of Vail, Colo., said he is seeking $500,000 for his parking space in the Vail's Founders garage.
Buzz Schleper said the pricey parking space is on the top floor of the garage, which is across from the Christiana hotel and a block from Vista Bahn Ski Rentals, the Vail Daily News reported Tuesday.
That's what I think the going rate is going from now on,
Schleper said of the spot's half-million dollar price tag. Parking is going up in Vail, and it's a block from the Vista Bahn.
Craig Denton, a real estate agent with Ron Byrne Associates, said the last parking spot to be sold in the Founders garage went for nearly $350,000 while another spot was nearly sold for $385,000 before the deal fell through.
There's always somebody out there who has money to spend on a good Vail parking spot,
said Schleper, who listed the parking spot for sale Monday. I'm sure it'll sell. There's no hurry.
