Gold ring found in Salvation Army kettle

The Salvation Army says a gold ring appraised at $2,000 was dropped in a Uniontown, Pa., donation kettle where it was found by charity workers.
The group said the 18-karat white gold piece of jewelry was found inside a kettle placed outside a Giant Eagle supermarket, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported Tuesday.
The Salvation Army said the ring was was spotted by workers counting its contents Nov. 22.
