Police unsure if carwash heart was human
West Michigan police said they were working to determine whether a heart discovered in the bay of a carwash came from an animal or a human.
Investigators said the owner of a carwash in the city of Paw Paw called investigators Monday after finding an object that appeared to be a heart in one of the wash bays, WWMT-TV, Kalamazoo, Mich., reported Thursday.
Police said a veterinarian at a local animal clinic was unable to determine what kind of animal the heart had come from and a cardiologist was unable to rule out the possibility that the heart came from a human body.
The organ was taken to Sparrow Hospital Forensic Services Division in Lansing, Mich., to allow a pathologist to make a determination.
