Teenagers claim they swathed Bernard Madoff's Florida mansion in toilet paper in retaliation for losing their trust funds in his alleged Ponzi scheme.
The teenagers called the newsroom of The Palm Beach (Fla.) Post to take credit for Sunday night's prank, but refused to give their names, the newspaper reported Monday.
The teens claimed the prank was sanctioned by their parents, who had invested with Madoff's firm, the Post reported.
Madoff, who allegedly has confessed to running a $50 billion fraud scheme, remains under house arrest in his Park Avenue apartment in New York while his mansion in Palm Beach remains a target for vandals, the Post reported.
Last month, someone stole a $10,000 piece of bronze yard art from the mansion's lawn and then returned it with this note: Bernie the Swindler, Lesson: Return Stolen Property to rightful owners. Signed by -- The Educators.
