A North Dakota animal control officer said calls about dogs are commonplace, but a report of a dog on the roof of a house was a first for him.
Dick Schnell, an animal control officer with the Minot Police Department, said he responded to a call Tuesday about a dog that had apparently scaled the snow banks in the backyard of its home to reach the roof of the house, the Minot Daily News reported Thursday.
Just when you think you've seen it all,
Schnell joked after the incident Tuesday.
Schnell said he attempted to lure the dog back to the ground with treats, but he was only able to get the dog to fetch them from the lower level of the roof and subsequently flee back to the top of the home.
The animal control officer said the owner of the dog and the home was eventually contacted and was able to coax the canine back down to the ground level.
