Police: Ex-McDonald’s workers robbed store
Two former workers at a McDonald's in Lombard, Ill., returned to the scene of their employment to rob the fast-food restaurant, police allege.
Bobby Dean, 31, and Jardell Woods, 21, have been charged in the early-morning robbery of the suburban Chicago McDonald's, the Chicago Tribune reported Saturday.
Police allege the two men, who worked as clerks at the eatery, surprised a female manager Dec. 1 and bound her with duct tape. The Tribune said after securing the manager, the masked men allegedly fled the scene with $17,000.
DuPage County Judge Peter Ostling has set the suspects' bail at $750,000 each as they await trial on charges of armed robbery and aggravated unlawful restraint.
Bail will not be accepted by the court until a hearing takes place to determine if any proferred bail money came from illegal sources, Ostling ruled Friday.
