Police in Texas said they were searching for a gun-toting man believed to have robbed banks in Dallas and Irving while talking on his cell phone.
Authorities said the man is believed to have held up a Wachovia bank in Dallas about 9 a.m. Monday and a Wells Fargo bank in Irving an hour later while talking on his cell phone during both robberies, the Fort Worth (Texas) Star-Telegram reported Tuesday.
Investigators said the Irving robbery took place at a bank inside of a Tom Thumb grocery store. The robber showed his handgun to a teller and took an undisclosed amount of money, police said. Security camera footage of the robbery shows the man with his cell phone against his ear during the crime.
The suspect fled in a black four-door car that police said may have been a Ford Focus.
