Police: Man used stroller for shoplifting
April 15, 2009
Police in New York state said a man used his 2-year-old stepdaughter’s stroller to try to steal video games from a Hollywood Video store.
Miguel Angel Rodriguez, 20, of Albany, was charged with attempted grand larceny and acting in a manner injurious to a child after he allegedly entered the store Friday and hid more than $1,000 worth of games in the stroller with the child inside, the Albany Times Union reported Wednesday.
Authorities said a store employee confronted Rodriguez in the parking lot and recovered the games. The employee followed the suspect into a nearby Wal-Mart and used his cell phone to guide officers to the man, police said.
Rodriguez was released after posting bail and is due back in court April 23.
