Trailer found, 34,000 lbs. of chicken gone
Police in Missouri said they found a trailer that was used to steal 34,000 pounds of chicken parts, but the poultry remains missing.
Kansas City police said they followed a tracking device in the trailer, which was stolen along with the chicken from Arkansas-based Simmons Foods, and found it on an industrial property alongside five other trailers that investigators believe were also stolen, the Kansas City Star reported Wednesday.
There's a lot of chicken out there, said Sgt. Keith Ericsson.
There is a public safety concern because we don't know how it is being transported or kept. It's not being regulated.
