Deputies deliver baby at roadside

Authorities in Colorado said Jefferson County sheriff's deputies delivered a baby at the side of a highway during a snowstorm.

The sheriff's office said a couple dialed 911 early Monday morning and told the dispatcher that they were traveling toward the hospital on Highway 285 because the woman was in labor, KMGH-TV, Denver, reported Monday.

The dispatcher told the man to pull over to the side of the road and sheriff's deputies soon arrived and delivered the baby before the paramedics arrived.

The sheriff's office said the mother and her new baby were taken to a hospital and were doing fine Monday.
