A Minnesota woman charged with making terroristic threats allegedly threatened to take a gun to a bank if employees did not do as she requested, police said.
A criminal complaint filed against Benita Taylor, of Apple Valley, says she called a Wells Fargo bank April 9 and told an employee that she was upset about the bank transferring money from her savings account to another of her accounts that was apparently overdrawn, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reported Thursday.
Taylor told the employee if the funds were not returned to her account, she would be bringing a gun into the bank to get her money back,
the criminal complaint states. The employee reported the conversation to a security officer, who then called Taylor. When the security agent asked Taylor if she meant her threat to bring a gun into the bank, Taylor stated, 'Yes, I can carry a gun with a permit, and if I'm forced to use it I will.'
When the security agent attempted to explain the money transfer to Taylor, she again stated that if the funds were not returned to her account by the morning, she would bring a gun to the bank,
the complaint reads.
Taylor, who was arrested at her apartment, could face up to five years in jail and a fine of up to $10,000 if she is convicted on the felony charge.
