Police: Robber’s disguise doesn’t work
A New Hampshire police officer looking at a surveillance camera’s record of a bank robbery thought he saw a familiar face under a layer of surgical tape.
Steven Colantonio, 49, of Nashua was arrested early Thursday and could face federal charges, The Nashua Telegraph reported.
St. Mary’s Bank in Nashua was robbed Wednesday afternoon. Tellers there said a man with surgical tape covering much of his face walked in and told them to give him money.
The man did not display a weapon or claim to have one.
Lt. George McCarthy said a detective took one look at the videotape from the bank’s security cameras and recognized Colantonio, who has a history of arrests.
