Investigators searching an Ohio consignment store for stolen goods found more than they had expected, including a 3-foot alligator.
They also discovered two homemade bombs in the building in Lockland, WLWT-TV in Cincinnati reported. The entire block around the building was evacuated Wednesday night.
Police said they also discovered $50,000 in stolen items.
The alligator was turned over to the Hamilton County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
He's aggressive, he could do some damage if he got a hold of somebody,
said Sheriff's Deputy Dan Conners.
But owning the alligator is not actually against the law in Ohio, and the SPCA said Thursday the owners were already trying to get it back, WCPO-TV reported.
