Police: Serial robber favors sub shops

Police in Florida said a man who robbed 13 businesses appears to have an affinity for sandwich shops, with eight Subways and three Quiznos among his victims.

Investigators in Miami-Dade County said theft spree, which began May 21, also includes a Radio Shack and a Payless ShoeSource store, the Miami Herald reported Friday.

A surveillance tape of one of the Subway robberies, released to the public Thursday, shows the man lifting his shirt to reveal a handgun and demanding money from an employee.

Workers at the victimized stores described the gun as either a black or silver semiautomatic handgun. The robber was described as about 6 feet tall and in his late 20s. He speaks Spanish with what some witnesses described as a Puerto Rican accent and drove away from each of his crimes in a black Ford sedan with tinted windows.
