Racy billboard offends baseball parents
Suburban Chicago residents say a billboard advertising a strip club is too suggestive to be near a Little League baseball complex.
Residents said the Interstate 90 billboard, which depicts a woman with bare arms and shoulders advertising a strip club, is clearly visible from Seminole Park in Des Plaines, the home of Devon-Higgins Little League baseball, the Arlington Heights (Ill.) Daily Herald reported Wednesday.
I find it very offensive, actually suggestive, said Lori Aponte, who has three children who participate in Little League during the summer.
It's not something I think they should be subjected to when they are doing something productive.
City officials said after residents complained at a Monday night City Council meeting that they will contact the billboard company, but they do not have the right to order the ad's removal, the report said.
It's a First Amendment issue, Des Plaines City Attorney David Wiltse said.
