Movie night in Cincinnati goes to the dogs
A weekly movie night event in Cincinnati had shaggier guests than usual as dogs were given a one-time free pass to the event, dog owners say.
Jessica Sargent of Milford, Ohio, said her shepherd/Rhodesian ridgeback mix Tod was among the canine guests to the Procter & Gamble Movie Night on Saturday, the Cincinnati Enquirer said. Typically dogs are not welcome at the weekly outdoor events.
While event organizers attempted to offer canine cinematic fare such as Best in Show
and Beethoven,
Sargent said her 6-year-old dog was more interested in pigeons and the fountain at Cincinnati’s Fountain Square.
We live out in Milford — in the Loveland area, and he’s never seen a pigeon before,
Sargent said. I was like, ‘You’ve got to chase a pigeon, you’re downtown!’
Largest dog honors at Saturday’s event went to Captain, a 150-pound Saint Bernard belonging to Jon Russell of Lawrenceburg, Ohio.
We like big dogs,
Russell said.
The Enquirer said specialty dog biscuits were up for sale at the outdoor screening thanks to the restaurant Bouchard’s Anything’s Pastable.
