Authorities in Wisconsin said a woman delivered a baby Monday in one of the northbound lanes of Interstate 43 in Milwaukee County.
The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office said the woman, who was riding in the car with a midwife, gave birth to her child at about 7:28 a.m. near the 13th St. intersection without requiring assistance from emergency responders, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported Monday.
The sheriff's office said the woman, her new baby and the midwife were taken to a hospital.
The closed lane of northbound I-43 was reopened at about 8:15 a.m., the sheriff's office said.
