Parking brawl puts two in hospital
A Kentucky parking meter attendant is on unpaid leave pending the outcome of an investigation into an alleged brawl that sent two people to a hospital.
Lexington officials said Wendell Lee Hall Jr., 38, a former boxer working as a LexPark meter attendant, requested to be put on leave pending the outcome of a police investigation into allegations that Hall struck Donald Perry, 70, during a July 16 argument about a parking ticket Hall placed on Perry’s son’s truck, the Lexington (Ky.) Herald-Ledger reported Friday.
Perry’s son, Steven Perry, admitted to striking Hall after seeing his father unconscious on the ground. Donald Perry was kept overnight at the hospital to receive treatment for a head injury while Hall was treated and released from a hospital.
No criminal charges have been filed in the case and the police investigation is ongoing, officials said.
