Ill. mom has second child outside hospital
A paramedic in Lombard, Ill., says a local woman gave birth in her home, 18 months after she had another child in his ambulance.
Paramedic Jack Shafer said when he arrived at the home of Jennifer Stringer and Rick Tresselt Monday, he immediately connected the house to a March 2008 incident that ended with Stringer giving birth on the way to the hospital, the Chicago Sun-Times reported Wednesday.
I looked at the house and I said, 'not again.' I just had to shake my head, Shafer said.
Shafer said when he and his partner arrived, Stringer, 37, and Tresselt, 38, had already delivered their third child.
Tresselt also was surprised to see Shafer show up.
I just screamed out, 'you gotta be kidding me,' Tresselt told the Sun-Times about his reaction to seeing the paramedic he met 18 months earlier.
The couple's new daughter, Devin Leigh Tresselt, was doing well after the home birth.
