Candyland comes to life on Lombard Street
Toymaker Hasbro transformed San Fransisco's famed Lombard Street into a life-size rendition of its classic children's board game Candyland, the company said.
Four teams of children participated in a Candyland-type game on the crooked city street Wednesday, KGO, San Francisco, reported.
Hasbro hired costumed characters and had the block landscaped to complete a streetscape resembling the winding path of the game board.
I don't mind it, but some of my neighbors do, a Lombard Street resident said.
The company reimbursed residents for landscaping.
Candyland has been cherished for years by millions of people, Hasbro representative Christina Gomes said.
A team of children from University of California, San Francisco Medical Center won the game.
