Last call for bartender — after 77 years

A 95-year-old Pennsylvania man listed by the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's longest-serving bartender has announced his intention to retire.

Angelo Cammarata, 95, said he and his sons sold Cammarata's Cafe in West View, where he has been tending bar for most of his 77 years in the profession, and he will no longer be seen behind the bar once the new owners are approved by the state within the next few weeks, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported Thursday.

It was a pleasure, Cammarata said of his years behind the bar, because I met so many wonderful people.

He said the new owners, who are changing the name to Danny's, asked him to stay on, but he decided to retire and take care of his wife, Marietta, at their home in Ross, Pa.
