Goodwill workers find kitten in sofa
Workers at a Goodwill store in Ohio said they discovered a kitten trapped inside a couch donated to the thrift shop.
Kaila Voight, a clerk at the Huron store, said employees began hearing mewling shortly after the sofa was dropped off as a donation Thursday, the Sandusky (Ohio) Register reported Tuesday.
We heard meowing and didn’t know where it was coming from, Voight said.
We finally figured out it was coming from the couch. We removed the cushions and out popped the kitten’s head through a slit in the fabric covering the springs.
Voight said the donor called the store later in the day to say a kitten was missing and may have been in the couch. The woman expressed relief to hear the kitten was safe and gave permission for a customer to adopt the feline, Voight said.
