258.5-foot-long cheese sets record
A team of Italian cheese makers has earned its third Guinness World Record with a 258.5-foot-long braid of mozzarella.
The 40 cheese makers in the town of Sala Consilina broke their own record Sunday by twisting the mozzarella weave, which measured 3.9 inches thick, in 78 minutes, leaving them with 22 minutes to spare under the regulations for the record, ANSA reported Tuesday.
The team said the mozzarella braid was 73.1 feet longer than the record-setting cheese they created last year. The team originally set the record in 2007 with a 140.4-foot-long cheese weave.
