Police found a baby crocodile during a drug raid in Jackson County.
The 1-foot crocodile was found Thursday in an aquarium in the house, The Jackson Citizen Patriot reported. Police confiscated the reptile, along with seven grams of crack cocaine and a semiautomatic handgun.
Two people who lived in the house were charged in a related drug case that led to the search.
The Jackson County Animal Control took the crocodile, along with two pit bulls found in the home.
Crocodiles in captivity dine on small mice and fish, said Kimberlee Luce, animal control manager. The reptiles can live up to 100 years.
