You've heard of a tower of strength and the Tower of Babel. Now there's a tower of toilet paper.
Members of Hope Community Church in Scottsdale collected the bathroom tissue to donate to the Vista del Camino Center, which assists Scottsdale's city's low-income residents.
The Rev. Fred Doidge said the 65-member church has been a supporter of the Vista for years.
Rita Koppinger, the Vista's human services manager, visited the church earlier this summer and explained the need for donations, including toilet paper.
"I said this would be a different and fun project. We've collected toilet paper. We've got 24-packs, eight-packs and 36-packs," Doidge said.
The goal was to stack the rolls to reach the ceiling of the estimated 12-foot-high church sanctuary. By Friday, they were halfway there.
