Towering Twins Snatch Guinness Record

CANBY, Ore. - For once, being extremely tall for a girl has amounted to more than just stares. Sixteen-year-old twins Ann and Claire Recht of Canby have snatched the Guinness Book of World Records title for tallest recorded female twins. The 6-foot-6 twins shattered the previous record by more than an inch.
Their size has now brought them a host of media attention - including a TV crew from Japan that is following the La Salle High School twins' every move.
The sisters received the confirmation of their record in July. If no taller female twins apply this year, the Rechts will make it into the annual edition.
Unlike most high school girls, the towering twins say they hate shopping. After six hours at the mall, they're lucky if they can come away with a T-shirt that fits them, they said.
When they find a shirt that's long enough, they snatch up several in different patterns, said Claire.
For their 38-inch inseam legs, they buy Gap Long and Lean jeans in extra long, then let out the hem two inches.
Dress shoes are almost out of the question, Claire said. It's frustrating enough to find size 13 shoes, let alone heels.
