Obama is Accused of ‘Acting Like He’s White’

THE Rev Jesse Jackson reportedly said Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama was “acting like he’s white”.

The civil rights leader said Mr Obama had been weak over the arrest of six black youths on attempted murder charges in Jena, Louisiana. Thousands are expected to protest today against their treatment.

“If I were a candidate, I’d be all over Jena,” Mr Jackson said, according to the Columbia State newspaper. Later he claimed his words had been taken out of context. Mr Obama’s mother was white and his father, who was from Kenya, was black..
