Adelaide Australia Launches “Report It” Smartphone App to Serve 1.2 Million Residents

Adelaide “Report It” app will serve 1.2 million residents; CitySourced mobile service request platform now deployed in four continents

Adelaide City Council is expanding its range of free apps, with ℠Adelaide Report it´ as the latest mobile phone application to be released. The new app allows users to take a photo of potholes, graffiti and other maintenance issues in the city and submit it to the Council´s Customer Service Centre – all from the convenience of their mobile phone.

“Council and our staff work hard to make sure our city is well maintained and safe for everyone to enjoy. By adding this new facility, we hope that people will find it a quick and easy way to report issues or incidents to our customer service team,” Lord Mayor Stephen Yarwood said.

“We´re the first Council to trial this app in Australia — and join more than 20 other major US cities including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Honolulu and San Jose. It shows we´re at the forefront of technology and willing to try new things for the benefit of the community.”

The app, developed by CitySourced, uses geo-tagging technology to automatically provide the location of the issue or incident, simplifying the reporting process for users, while increasing the reliability of the report location for the service crews. The app will then send the user confirmation that the message has been received and an update once the request has been completed.
