OpenText MBPM 9 is First Business Process Management (BPM) Solution to Achieve Top Government Security Certification
Waterloo, ON (PRWEB) May 21, 2012
OpenText (NASDAQ: OTEX, TSX: OTC) Business Process Solutions group today announced that OpenText MBPM 9 (formerly Metastorm BPM) has attained the Common Criteria Certification and Validation Scheme (CCEVS) at Evaluation Assurance Level 4+ (EAL4+), augmented with ALC_FLR.2, through the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP).
The Common Criteria Certification is an internationally recognized standard defined by the United States National Security Agency (NSA) and other international government agencies for ensuring IT products conform to stringent security requirements. OpenText MBPM 9 is the first business process management (BPM) solution to achieve the Common Criteria Certification at EAL4+. This represents a substantial increase in technology product security and assurance from EAL2 requiring more rigorous testing of the products security functionality and development practices. OpenText MBPM version 7.5 had previously achieved the Common Criteria Certification at EAL2 in October 2008.
“Security remains one of the most important capabilities for both our government and commercial customers alike,” said Steve Russell, senior vice president of research and development, OpenText, Business Process Solutions. “The Common Criteria Certification at EAL4+ is one of the toughest certifications to achieve. Earning this critical accreditation underscores OpenText´s commitment to providing customers with not only the most flexible but also the most secure business process management solutions in the market space.”
The independent certification of OpenText MBPM was conducted by Science Applications International Corp.´s (SAIC) accredited Common Criteria testing lab.
