The upcoming MISS Foundation “Transformative Nature of Grief” conference in Tempe, AZ from October 4-6 welcomes parents and medical professionals to learn the best way to handle grief from the loss of a child. Businesses such as the KONG dog and cat toy company steps up to sponsor families and ensure the conference can help many.
The conference, held every other year, provides education and resources to help professionals and bereaved parents better understand and respond to grief, separation and bereavement related to the death of a child. Businesses such as KONG, Gallagher & Kennedy P.A. Law Offices, Archibeque Law Firm, Applebee’s, Chilli’s and others want to make sure the conference serves grieving parents the best way possible.
“Historically, our organization has been faced with many challenges in seeking corporate support for our work. The KONG Company and others have stepped up with tremendous courage and generosity to demonstrate their compassion for children and grieving families,” comments MISS Founder Dr. Joanne Cacciatore.
“We do it because it is the right thing to do. With all the success we have experienced, it’s only right to give back,” states KONG owner Kathy “KD” Decker.
MISS welcomes all family members and professionals to attend the upcoming conference and businesses such as KONG hope they can be an example to other companies to help fund the tools necessary for grief support and proper medical attention to parents and families who have lost a loved one.
The MISS Foundation is a 501 (c) 3, volunteer based organization committed to providing crisis support and long term aid to families after the death of a child from any cause.
