City of Aubrey, Texas May Be the First Municipality to Have a Responsive Web Design Using Twitter Bootstrap
Aubrey, TX has recently launched a new website built on the next generation web framework that is being pioneered by social media giant Twitter. The framework is called “BootStrap” it has the ability for a website to respond differently to any device that uses it.

Aubrey, TX has recently launched a new website built on the next generation web framework that is being pioneered by social media giant Twitter. The framework is called “BootStrap” and at the core of Bootstrap is the ability for a website to respond differently to any device that uses it. Mobile phones, tablets and PCs all get a version of the website tailored to their needs, all from a single template.
The Dallas Internet Marketing and SEO company SEOTA built the website and their CEO William Hogsett said, “The Aubrey Muni website is the website of the future, from one template you can serve a mobile friendly version, a tablet friendly version and computer friendly version of the same website. There is no need to build a mobile app for your website-your website can be the mobile app.”
SEOTA has built five responsive websites this quarter, the City of Aubrey is the first built on the Twitter Bootstrap framework. SEOTA claims they will stick with Bootstrap for the foreseeable future.
“Having mobile-friendly capabilities has enabled our citizens to more readily access information,” says City Secretary, Isaac Linton.
Now, no matter where visitors are accessing the city´s website from, they can easily locate important information about the city without fidgeting through pages of unrelated material. Communicating with the users as directly as possible has been the goal of developing this website; Chantal Kirkland has already praised the website for being “easy to use both for administrators and for [the] customers.” As the city´s director of EDC and Planning, Kirkland goes on to say that SEOTA´s website is now much better at “get[ting] customers the information they need.”
City officials are optimistic about the new site´s ability to improve their communication with the town´s citizens. The initiative is a way for the city to recognize the growing technological needs of the people that it appreciates most; Secretary Linton acknowledges that the city´s website now has “the potential to grow“¦as [the] citizens´ needs expand.” SEOTA´s website for the City of Aubrey can be viewed at ci.aubrey.tx.us.
