Rehabmart.com, an online e-commerce company that sells rehabilitation and medical supplies, has joined into a distribution collaboration with The Comfort Company to offer their Maxx Gel Wheelchair Cushions to a wider consumer base. Founded in 1987, and headquartered in Bozeman, Montana, The Comfort Company’s guiding belief is that a single company can meet the needs of millions of wheelchair users all over the world. They create “one of a kind mobility solutions for individuals with one of a kind needs”, and they understand the important qualities that a proper seating system can provide, including health, mobility, and independence. Their products are used by both rehabilitation and geriatric patients.

Providing both proper positioning and skin protection, the Maxx Gel Wheelchair Cushions from The Comfort Company feature soft topper foam waterfalls over the front cushion which help to bring comfort and support to all potential pressure points. Added reduction of potential high-pressure areas comes with an additional four layers of high resiliency foam that increases the surface area. The gel pack used in these cushions is made from Evolite, an ultra-lightweight composite gel that flows to respond to positional changes made by the users. Deep lateral and medial leg contours enhance proper postural alignment, and an Anti-Thrust shelf helps to prevent hip rotation.

The Maxx Gel cushions are available with a choice of two cover fabric options that help to protect the skin. Designed for air transmission and heat reduction, the Stretch-Air Fabric combines a high-stretch Lycra top layer, a waterproof, breathable vapor barrier, and a layer of reticulating foam. The Comfort-Tek fluid-proof fabric offers a multi-dimensional stretch which alleviates pressure on bony prominences, enhancing comfort for the user. Additional standard highlights of these cushions include hook and loop attachments, a non-skid bottom, and a storage pocket. Special options include an Incontinent Proof Liner for Cushions, and an ABS Rigid Insert. The Maxx Gel Wheelchair Cushions are offered in a wide assortment of sizes from pediatric to a weight limit of 400 pounds.

“We are thrilled to introduce more consumers to the wonderful benefits of the Maxx Gel Wheelchair Cushions from The Comfort Company,” said Hulet Smith, OTR/L, MBA and CEO of Rehabmart. “Especially designed for wheelchair users of all ages and sizes, these innovative cushions offer the utmost in comfort, proper positioning, and skin protection.
