–houston The former president George Bush has endorsed John McCain, sending a strong signal to the Republican establishment which is wary of the Arizona senator. He said Mr McCain’s commitment to America was “beyond any doubt”. He is calling for conservatives to get over their distaste for Mr McCain and for Mike Huckabee, his rival for the presidential nomination, to get out.
