Sen. Hilary Clinton will appear at a New Hampshire rally with Sen. Barack Obama that The Washington Post Tuesday portrayed as an appeal for the women’s vote.

Friday’s event in aptly named Unity, N.H., is considered an initial step by Obama, the presumptive 2008 Democratic presidential nominee, to rally the support of the female voters who formed a core constituency for Clinton’s primary campaign.

Clinton, D-N.Y., this week sent a video message to supporters via e-mail telling them that the next chapter of this historic journey had begun and that she looked forward to campaigning with Obama, the junior senator from Illinois, The Washington Post reported.

The Post also noted that Clinton threw in an appeal for contributions to pay off her more than $22.5 million campaign debt, but made no make a similar pitch for donations to Obama’s war chest.
