Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., returned to work at the U.S. Capitol Tuesday, entering the building as a group of interns, tourists and reporters looked on.
Thank you, everybody, thank you so much, Clinton said to well-wishers as she returned to the Senate chambers three weeks after suspending her historic bid for president, The Hill reported.
Taking no questions from reporters, Clinton stopped at the top of the Senate steps to wave to the crowd. Once inside the doors, she was greeted by Sens. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., Barbara Mikulski, D-Md., and Debbie Stabenow, D-Mich., who all endorsed her over Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., who clinched the number of delegates need to secure the Democratic presidential nomination June 3.
