Aide Touts Bill Clinton Speech Wednesday

Posted on: Wednesday, 27 August 2008, 00:00 CDT

Former U.S. President Bill Clinton's support for Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama will be unmistakable after Clinton's speech, an aide said.

Clinton is set to speak Wednesday at the Democratic National Convention in Denver.

"Anyone who doubts President Clinton's commitment to electing Barack Obama should tune in Wednesday night," said Matt McKenna, a Clinton spokesman, The Hill reported Tuesday.

McKenna criticized some in the media for suggesting that Clinton was not backing Obama, who beat Hillary Clinton for the Democratic presidential nomination.

"It's unfortunate that some in the media feel the need to twist every statement to fit a manufactured storyline," McKenna said. "This was a serious discussion about solving some of the world's most serious problems, not party politics."
